Busy, dynamic and changing paradigms – from iron to light to a unique bacterial peroxidase. This is how the Redoxoma profile is highlighted in the works discussed in this Newsletter issue. We also turn back to the discussion of impact factors as metrics for evaluating investigator's achievements. Hope this will help young investigators to position themselves in this cloudy subject. And you may or may not need to agree with us — our site is open for correspondence.

Finally, I have the pleasure to welcome Dr. Flávia Meotti, from the Chemistry Institute, University of São Paulo and an investigator from our Redoxoma, as the new Co-Editor of our Redoxoma Newsletter.

Welcome!
